One day I woke up and I could not have been happier. The sun was really bright and was really vibrant and the birds on my balcony were chirping. It was the summer of 2016, I remember this because this summer felt very dry and sweaty. The other reason I was really happy was that it was my first job interview. I was getting ready for the interview and everything was going great. My clothes were ready, as were my shoes and socks. Which was great because I had woken up 3 hours earlier and I was not sleepy and ready to go. On this day it felt slow moving and out of nowhere, my heart started beating really fast. I was getting cold feet and I was getting scared of going. When it finally came time to go, I got my bike and quickly stopped at the local store. Just as I was getting ready to leave my neighborhood on my bike, I saw this small rock with a sharp end. I panicked but there was nothing I could do. Then I hit this rock that came out of nowhere. I fell off my bike, hitting the ground really hard. My brain felt dizzy and unstable. Just as I was starting to feel better, I remembered I had a drink in my hand when I was biking. It was Coca Cola that fell over my clothes, giving all my clothes a sticky feeling and a sugary smell. It messed up all my work clothes. I took off my shirt and just wore my v-neck shirt that I had in my bag and since my pants were black I didn’t have to change them. But like all the other clothes, they had a sticky feeling to them. I was searching for a job all summer long and this was my last chance to get it. I was pretty excited to have a job and couldn’t turn back now sidenote(I thought to myself, why don’t I just give up and just go back home.I was feeling like this, because I really felt like my day was not going to get any better. I remembered that an opportunity like this would not present itself again. Thereafter I knew I couldn’t do that, so decided to just go), so I just picked up my heavy bike and started biking again. Weeks later I got a call from the library on my worn-down phone ...and I got the job. I am so happy I never give up on that day, because till this day I love the job and it’s part of who I am.
